• Missouri Indie Author Project — winner of the adult fiction contest for Lead Me Home.

• Missouri Writers Guild

  • Lead Me Home won Second Place in the 2016 “Show Me” Best Book Award contest.

  • When Heart Shall Fail won First Place in the 2024 Best Fiction Award contest.

• Mid-America Romance Authors — My Hope Secured was a finalist in the 2020 CARLA Contest.

• Thorpe Menn Literary Excellence Award — Now I’m Found, Forever Mine, My Hope Secured , and When Heart Shall Fail were nominees for this award in the years they were eligible. Safe Thus Far was a finalist for this award.

• Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc. — numerous awards for poetry and short fiction over several years, including

  • First place for poems “Sacrament,” “On the Tower’s Ledge,” and “Dementia”

  • First place for a short story “A Mother’s Day Gift”

  • Second place for an early draft of Now I’m Found

  • Honorable mention for an early draft of Lead Me Home

  • Honorable mention for an early draft of A Life of Joy (not yet published)

  • Honorable mention for a short story “Driving to Des Moines” (later published in Family Recipe)
