One of the things writers have to do is market their books. This blog is one form of marketing, though I also post to preserve my memories for succeeding generations and to reflect on the world around me. But, from time to time, I have to focus on marketing.
Recently, I discussed my books at the retirement community of Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas. I had a great time with the forty or so people who attended. They asked excellent questions about my writing process, about the publishing industry today, and about my research and knowledge of the Oregon Trail. I hope the attendees enjoyed it as much as I did.
Earlier this summer, before I spoke at Lakeview Village, Nan Wilson, a member of their library committee, interviewed me for their in-house television station as a promotion for my upcoming talk. I obtained a copy of the recording of this interview, and I thought readers of this blog might enjoy it also.
